Festive franchising - 12 days of Christmas...
As Christmas approaches and the year draws to a close, it’s both a time for reflection and looking to the future. If...
In my case it was a process of elimination.
I’d been working as a self-employed Project/Automation Engineer, and I was on the lookout for a franchise-type business that would allow me to get away from the factory environment. My wife had just given up her day job to look after our two small children and I wanted a business she could get involved in too.
Browsing the franchise offers on the Internet, I selected couple that weren’t the mainstream types, like cleaning or financial services. My priority was to find an opportunity for a business that is actually scalable - not just ‘owning a job’.
It was only when I started approaching the selected companies that I found out why so many new businesses are failing in their first year of operation. Response from most of the potential franchisors was very poor, and they were not prepared to properly present their business case. Some weren’t even interested enough to get back to me – even after multiple calls and requests for their info pack.
Then I called Darren from New Driveway Company. He has a very welcoming personality - professional and efficient, yet you feel like you want to have a cup of coffee with him. He had a vision and a plan, and the experience behind him to support both.
The process of joining the NDC Franchise network only convinced me more that this was a good decision. Now I’m finally going “live” and can’t wait first bricks to be layed.
